Platinum Tide Resort & Casino
About

A Resort Named for a Tide That Came Up the Mountain, Not the Coast

Platinum Tide Resort & Casino takes its name from a piece of local history: the wave of fortune seekers who poured into this district after gold was struck here in 1890. We built the resort around that same idea — more than one reason to make the trip up the mountain.

Where the Name Comes From

A "Tide" of Prospectors, a Century Later

Old-timers in this district used to describe the rush of 1890–1893 as a tide — thousands of prospectors, merchants, and speculators flowing up the wagon roads from Colorado Springs in a matter of months, drawn by a gold strike that eventually pulled more than $500 million in ore out of these hillsides. "Platinum" nods to that same district's reputation for precious-metal wealth, and to the tier of stay we set out to build when ownership broke ground here in 1996.

The name stuck because it does double duty: it is a piece of the district's own history, and it is a promise about the level of resort we intend to run — one built for a full stay, not just a stop at the tables.

Our History

From a Boarded-Up Assay Office to a Full Mountain Resort

1

1994 — The Lot on Bennett Avenue

Ownership acquired a shuttered assay office and the adjoining lots along Bennett Avenue, two years after limited-stakes gaming was approved for the district.

2

1996 — Platinum Tide Opens

The original 60-room hotel and gaming floor opened, built to keep the historic brick facade required by the district's landmark status while modernizing everything behind it.

3

2006 — The Spa & Pool Wing

A second building added the mineral-springs-inspired spa and the glass-walled heated pool deck, giving guests a reason to stay through a Colorado winter, not just a summer weekend.

4

2018 — Ridgeline Lounge & Full Renovation

The rooftop lounge and a full renovation of every guest room brought the property to its current 168-room footprint.

What Guides Us

Three Things We Won't Compromise On

A Property, Not Just a Casino

Every amenity is built to hold up as its own destination — the spa, the pool deck, and the dining rooms are not an afterthought to the gaming floor.

A Front Desk That Knows the Mountain

Our team can tell you the road conditions on Gold Camp Road as easily as they can confirm a room rate. Altitude, weather, and the district itself are part of the job.

A Real Sense of Place

From the chophouse menu to the spa's mineral treatments, we build the resort experience around this district's own mining history, not a generic template that could sit in any city.
