A First Weekend at Platinum Tide, Hour by Hour
Guests booking their first stay often ask our concierge desk the same question: how do you actually fit everything in without rushing? Here's the loose itinerary we suggest most often, built around a Friday check-in and a Sunday morning check-out.
Friday
- 4:00 PM — Check in, get settled, take it easy the first hour to let your body adjust to the elevation.
- 6:30 PM — An early dinner at The Drift & Shaft, something lighter than the chophouse for night one.
- 8:00 PM — An hour or two on the gaming floor, then an early night. First evenings go better with less alcohol and more sleep than you'd plan at sea level.
Saturday
- 9:00 AM — Breakfast at Summit Deck Cafe, poolside.
- 10:00 AM — A ride on the Cripple Creek & Victor Railroad, roughly an hour round trip including the walk to the depot.
- Noon — A walk back through the historic district, with a stop at the Cripple Creek District Museum if you're into the history.
- 1:30 PM — Lunch back at the resort, then a spa treatment — the Alpine Mineral Soak is the one most first-time guests book.
- 4:00 PM — Pool deck and hot tub terrace, or a fire-pit cabana if you booked one ahead.
- 7:00 PM — Dinner at Bennett Chophouse. Reserve this one in advance.
- 9:00 PM — Ridgeline Lounge for a drink, then the gaming floor for as long as you'd like — it's open all night.
By Saturday afternoon, most guests have fully adjusted to the elevation. That's part of why we build the busier day second rather than first.
Sunday
- 9:00 AM — A relaxed breakfast, no reservations needed.
- 10:00 AM — A last walk down Bennett Avenue, or a final soak in the hot tub before check-out.
- 11:00 AM — Check-out. If you'd like extra time, ask the front desk about a late check-out before you arrive — it's often available on Sundays.
Ways to Adjust This Plan
Traveling with kids, this itinerary trims easily — swap the gaming floor evenings for extra pool deck time and the railroad ride works well for any age. Traveling for the gaming floor specifically, push the museum stop and lean harder into Saturday and Sunday night sessions instead. Our concierge desk is glad to rebuild this around whatever your group actually wants more of.
